Question:

Assalaamu alaikum

Respected ‘Ulama

There is a non-Muslim makeup artist who is highly qualified in his field. He claims to be gay. It has recently become a trend among some Muslim women to get their faces done up by this makeup artist.

After applying the makeup, he often takes pictures of these women and displays them on Instagram.

Could the ‘Ulama please explain the status of this in the sharee‘ah.

Question:

Assalaamu alaikum

A sister in Islam knows the command of Allah regarding purdah/niqaab, yet she feels she isn't ready. She does not want to be a hypocrite so she refuses to wear it till she is ready.

Her parents are forcing her to wear it. Is this ok or are they just supposed to warn her and let her choose? Are they getting sin for forcing her?

Jazakallah.

Lengthy Wazeefahs

Correspondence of  Hazrat Moulana Shah Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb (rahimahullah)

Condition:

Before establishing a relationship of reformation with you, it was my habit that when I experienced any need, I would read:

 يَا بَدِيْعَ الْعَجَائِبِ بِالْخَيْرِ يَا بَدِيْعُ

1200 times after the ‘esha salaah for twelve days. Does Hazrat permit me to practise this for one or two needs of mine?

Answer:

In today’s times, the health of the people cannot bear lengthy wazeefahs. Instead of this, offer two rak‘aats of salaatul haajah and make du‘aa. This is preferable because it is sunnah. (Solutions to Spiritual Maladies for the Lovers of Allah Ta‘ala, pg. 244)

Question:

Assalaamu alaikum

Respected Mufti Saab

It’s going to be a year since I am divorced now. Yet I find myself constantly living in the past, thinking about my ex, and what we could’ve done. What I would have done differently in our separation period or why did it turn out like this. Why did I get married if this was going to be the outcome? These and many other questions and thoughts constantly play on my mind. I even dream of a world in which we are together. In reality I know that our marriage couldn’t have worked and I tried everything to save our marriage and sought help from senior ‘Ulama.

Now when I think of marriage the only thing I see is the lies, pain, hurt and affairs that come with it. Almost every marriage that I look at, one spouse is either cheating or getting hurt. There’s only a short period of happiness.

Question:

Assalaamu alaikum

I was, for a long time, involved in an illicit relationship with a boy. Our relationship eventually reached the point where I trusted him and sent him pictures of myself. Some of the pictures I sent him were quite revealing and explicit. We broke up a few weeks back and now he wants to use the pictures I sent him to blackmail me. Please advise me as to what I can do. I really regret what I did and I know that it was very foolish.
