Assalaamu alaikum

Respected Moulana

We are a group of sisters who meet on a regular basis. Many of us have studied at girls’ madrasahs and some have university degrees. In our social get-togethers we discuss many diverse issues.

One person will quote an ‘Aalim to support her view, whilst another will quote another ‘Aalim to support the opposite view. This debating does not become personal, but it does leave us a bit confused sometimes.

Respected Maulana,

Can you please give me a wazeefah for my children? My daughter is five years old and my son is two years old. I am worried about their behaviour, especially my daughter, who has become rebellious and a bit hyper and is not doing well at school and madrasah so far.

Please give me a wazeefah that I can read on a daily basis so she becomes well-mannered and improves in her madrasah and school.

Respected Moulana

Whenever I intend to go out, my mother in law asks me where I am going. I am finding this very annoying. I feel she is being too nosey. Do I have to tell her?

There is no place my husband and I go to without her wanting to know where we are going. I find this very interfering in my marriage and feel she just wants to exercise her authority over her youngest son. Is it still his duty to answer her, or can we just say we are going out, greet her and not tell her the actual places?

As Salaamu ‘alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

Maulana, despite having spent 5 years at madrasah, and being occupied in the service of deen, I still find myself weak with regard to nafs (the carnal self) and Shaitaan. I still fall into some sin or the other. This makes me very despondent and a feeling of darkness envelops me. I carry out some good actions and then spoil them with some bad deed. There are times when I find myself intending to do something displeasing to Allah Ta‘ala, then though I find restlessness in my heart, I give in to nafs and Shaitaan. After this, I cry in repentance, but after some time, fall into some sin again.

Letter:

Assalamualaikum.

Respected Moulana

Please help, I feel like I am going to have a nervous breakdown. I am taking tablets to calm myself but I don’t think it’s working anymore. I had a proposal from a married man who wants me to be his second wife. I keep refusing him because I know my parents will not accept it. He is a family person. He insists that what he asks is not haraam and sometimes I just feel like listening to him. My parents are very sickly and I fear that if I do make nikaah it will affect their health very badly. Now I feel that if I make nikaah I won’t be happy in my marriage because my parents are not happy and maybe Allah will punish me in some way. So many thoughts are running through my mind. It’s so confusing and I am so afraid of having a nervous breakdown, I cannot even sleep at night. Your help and duas will be appreciated.

Jazakallah
