Letter:

As Salaamu ‘alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

Respected Maulana,

I always felt very strongly against people visiting ‘aamils and becoming obsessed in following different treatments when it comes to them having jinn/sihr problems. I feel that the sunnah offers the perfect prescription, with the ‘Quls’ and other masnoon du‘aas. However, due to being affected by witchcraft by my in-laws, I too was encouraged to visit some ‘aamils and ended up going for different treatments and feel worse than when I started. Moreover, I was told that since my in-laws are the cause, I should keep away from them but I think this may hurt my husband’s feelings.

Would appreciate Maulana’s guidance please.

As Salaamu ‘alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

Respected Maulana,

Where does it say in Islam that a woman has to serve her husband? Why did the Sahaabiyyaat serve their husbands, if it is not in Islam? Why did Hazrat Fatima (radhiyallahu ‘anha) do housework if it is not in Islam? Why should we serve our husbands? Why?

Assalaamu alaikum

Respected Moulana

We are a group of sisters who meet on a regular basis. Many of us have studied at girls’ madrasahs and some have university degrees. In our social get-togethers we discuss many diverse issues.

One person will quote an ‘Aalim to support her view, whilst another will quote another ‘Aalim to support the opposite view. This debating does not become personal, but it does leave us a bit confused sometimes.

As Salaamu ‘alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

Respected Maulana,

Can you please give me a wazeefah for my children? My daughter is five years old and my son is two years old. I am worried about their behaviour, especially my daughter, who has become rebellious and a bit hyper and is not doing well at school and madrasah so far.

Please give me a wazeefah that I can read on a daily basis so she becomes well-mannered and improves in her madrasah and school.

Inquisitive Mother in Law

Correspondence of Hazrat Moulana Yunus Patel Saheb (rahimahullah)

Letter:

Respected Moulana

Whenever I intend to go out, my mother in law asks me where I am going. I am finding this very annoying. I feel she is being too nosey. Do I have to tell her?

There is no place my husband and I go to without her wanting to know where we are going. I find this very interfering in my marriage and feel she just wants to exercise her authority over her youngest son. Is it still his duty to answer her, or can we just say we are going out, greet her and not tell her the actual places?
