An easy weeknight supper.


250g of cubed steak

¼ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

1 tsp chilli powder

¼ tsp dana jeero

½ a red onion chopped

1 tsp crushed garlic

1 tsp paprika

¾ punnet of mushrooms sliced

1 cup fresh cream

1 cup milk

½ sachet of vegetable soup powder / 1 tsp vegetable stock

250g cooked pasta

Grated cheese


Sauté the onion in a little olive oil.

Add the steak and spices. Cook till almost done.

Add the mushrooms, garlic and paprika. Cook till done.

Whisk the soup powder / stock into the milk and cream.

Add the milk mixture to the steak.

Bring to boiling point. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Either serve the sauce over the pasta with cheese sprinkled on top or combine the sauce and pasta in a casserole dish. Top with cheese and bake at 180 degrees celsius for half an hour before serving.
