A delicious and healthy alternative to fried savouries
Finely chop one onion. Soften in a little oil.
Wash and cube ½kg of tenderized steak.
Marinate in:
½ tsp ginger garlic
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp ground red chilli paste
½ tsp lemon pepper
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp lemon juice
Add steak to onion. When half way cooked, add ½ finely cubed potato and ½ cup of mixed vegetables. Cook till done.
In a large bowl combine:
2 cup flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp white pepper
Cube 125g of cold butter. Rub butter into the flour mixture with your fingers until completely absorbed.
Whisk together 1 ½ cup milk and 2 eggs.
Add to the above and mix.
Grease a medium sized oven proof dish.
Pour two thirds of the batter into the dish. Spread the steak filling over the batter. Top with the rest of the batter. Bake on 180 degrees celsius for around 45 minutes or until done.
Serve with chutney as desired.
