1. Refrain from eating cold foods as well as foods that are cold and dry in nature.
2. Eat foods that will increase body heat i.e. meat, spicy foods, sour foods, etc.
3. Heavy foods can be eaten slightly more as digestion improves in winter.
4. Eat foods with a low glycaemic level so that it can maintain nourishment for longer and to counter overeating.
5. Do not eat foods that are very sweet.
6. Dress warm at all times, inside the home and outside.
7. Do not go outside with the body or hair wet.
8. Keep the feet, ears and nape covered.
9. Exercise regularly, however it should not be so much as to cause a heavy perspiration.
10. The body should be cleansed and washed regularly so the pores are not blocked which may harm the body in spring.
11. Keep the skin moisturized using oils or cream.
