I seek guidance regarding the following:

1. How should one start preparing for Ramadhaan so that they may excel and reap the full rewards and blessings of Ramadhaan?

2. What should a female do when she is experiencing her haidh (menstrual cycle) during the month of Ramadhaan, and is thus unable to perform salaah and recite the Quraan Majeed?

Respected Sister

1. Commence with daily ta’leem of the section on Ramadhaan in Fazaail Aa’maal.

2. Increase your tilaawah of the Quraan Majeed gradually and build it up so that you can maximise tilaawah in Ramadhaan.

3. Increase time for earnest du‘aa.

4. When you are unable to perform salaah and recite the Quraan Majeed, set yourself a target of completing the following daily:

 – 1000 times istighfaar.

 – 1000 times durood shareef.

 – 500 times “Laa hawla walaa quwwata illaa billaahil ‘Aliyyil ‘Azeem.”

 – 111 times “Laa ilaaha illaa Anta, subhaanaka innee kuntu minazzaalimeen.”

 – 1 part of Munaajaat-e-Maqbool or Al-Hizbul Aa’zam.

  Do as much as you can manage. Spread it over the entire day.

May Allah Ta‘ala accept your efforts and make Ramadhaan very productive.
