When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) returned home, after becoming the Nabi of Allah Ta‘ala, he was so worried that his whole body was shaking, and he asked his beloved wife, Sayyidah Khadeejah (radhiyallahu ‘anha), to cover him with a blanket.

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) then explained to her how the angel had come, and told her that Allah Ta‘ala had chosen him to be His Nabi for all the people of the world.

The reason why the body of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was shaking, and he was very worried, is that wahi from Allah Ta‘ala is very heavy. When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) received the wahi, he felt like his body was going to break and he thought he was going to die. In fact, the wahi from Allah Ta‘ala was so heavy that if Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was sitting on a camel and wahi came, then the camel would not manage to stand. Because of the weight of the wahi, it would have to sit down.

Also, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was worried because being the Nabi of Allah Ta‘ala is the biggest responsibility that a person can have. He was worried whether he would manage to fulfil the responsibility and do the work that Allah Ta‘ala wanted him to do.

When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) told Sayyidah Khadeejah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) about his worry, then she comforted him and told him that he did not need to worry. She said to him, “You are good to your family and speak the truth. When other people have problems, you help them. When people are poor, then you look after them. You are honest, so whenever people leave their things by you, you return it to them. You make your guests feel comfortable and help people who are trying to do good things.”

Sayyidah Khadeejah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) was telling Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) that he was a good and pious man. Because he was good and pious, Allah Ta‘ala would help him and support him, so he did not need to worry. With the help of Allah Ta‘ala, he would be able to manage everything.

Lessons:

1. Even before Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) became the Nabi of Allah Ta‘ala, he was very pious and had very good qualities. These great qualities of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), of helping people, sharing with people and making guests comfortable, are qualities that we must all try to learn.

2. When a person is good and pious, then Allah Ta‘ala will use him to benefit other people and teach them Deen. Also, he will have the special help of Allah Ta‘ala with him. Allah Ta‘ala will make his work easy for him and will look after him.
