‘Aaishah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) mentions that a black woman, who was once a slave, would sometimes come to speak to her. However, whenever she arrived, she would recite the following before sitting:
وَيَوْمُ الْوِحَاشِ مِنْ تَعَاجِيْبِ رَبِّنَا

A few people from Damascus once came to visit Abu Muslim Khawlaani (rahimahullah) while he was in Rome for the purpose of jihaad. Abu Muslim (rahimahullah) had dug a pit in his tent, lined it with a piece of leather and filled it with water. The True ‘Eid
A group of people once passed by a monk in a monastery. Seeing him, they enquired, “When do the people of this monastery celebrate ‘Eid?” The monk replied, “On the day that they are forgiven.”
The monk then recited the following:
لَيْسَ الْعِيْدُ لِمَنْ لَبِسَ الْجَدِيْدْ ، إِنَّمَا الْعِيْدُ لِمَنْ طَاعَاتُهُ تَزِيْدْ
