A Brilliant Suggestion from a Brilliant Woman
Sayyidah Ummu Salamah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) was one of the noble wives of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). Allah Ta‘ala had not only blessed her with outstanding beauty, but also with great intelligence and deep understanding. (Al-Isaabah vol. 8, pg. 406)
She thus benefitted greatly from the companionship of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and acquired vast knowledge of Deen. Hence, she reports no less than 378 ahaadeeth from Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). (Mir-aatuz Zamaan vol. 8, pg. 807)

On one occasion, Maalik bin Dinaar (rahimahullah) was walking with Ja’far bin Sulaimaan (rahimahullah) in Basrah when they came across a palace being built. The person coordinating the project was a very handsome youngster.

The Undetected Cancer
There was once a person who diligently monitored his health. Periodically, he checked his blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, Vitamin D and other similar markers which indicate to good or ill health. However, after many years, the person was diagnosed with an illness which he had never thought to check for, a silent killer of which he had thus far been unmindful – cancer. His health rapidly deteriorated, and in a matter of months, he seemed to be at death’s door.
