All to No Avail
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَـٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۚ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ﴿١١٦﴾ مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ وَلَـٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ ﴿١١٧﴾
Indeed, those who disbelieve, neither their wealth nor their progeny will avail them in the least against Allah Ta‘ala, they are the people of the fire, they will remain therein …
Competing in Kindness and Care
(Sayyidah Asmaa bintu ‘Umais [radhiyallahu ‘anha] – Part Three)
On the occasion of the ‘Umratul Qadhaa (the qadhaa ‘Umrah performed by Rasulullah [sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam] and the Sahaabah [radhiyallahu ‘anhum] after the Treaty of Hudaibiyyah, in the following year), the disbelievers allowed Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) to remain in Makkah Mukarramah for just three days, after which they had to depart.

Honouring the Neighbour
Imaam Abu Haneefah (rahimahullah) had a neighbour, in Kufah, who was a shoemaker. He would work the entire day, only returning home when night set in. He would bring back with him some meat or fish that he would prepare for his supper. After partaking of his meal, he would indulge in drinking liquor. As the liquor would begin to intoxicate him, he would sing the following words:
أَضَاعُوْنِيْ وَأَيَّ فَتًى أَضَاعُوْا لِيَوْمِ كَرِيْهَةٍ وَسَدَادِ ثُغْرٍ
